Hmmm, that's not how it was supposed to happen. In my mind, I played well, ran hot, got the final table, and won the $346,401. I obviously lost, finishing 1740 or so (for 3500 entrants). Life is tough, clearly. - sorry for killing the suspense.
Anyhoo, I don't remember many hands, and didn't record my session.. and anyway, it's pretty boring. But still, in case someone is interested, here is more or less how the tourney went:
I started out with a few okay hands, nothing exceptional, winning a few small pots here and there, getting to 21k or so (starting stack was 20k chips, btw), and eventually started losing a few big hands. One of those was: I raised AQo, BB shortstack called. Flop came QTT, and he check/called a 2/3 pot bet. On the turn K, I was committed to call his shove, and he showed KJo, taking about half my stack.
Lots of standard, losing hands ensued, and I was eventually able to double up. I had AJo in the BB, and shoved against a UTG+1 limp. He snapped QTo ^^
After ~2.5hrs, I had finally reached my starting stack again.. only to be carddead for a couple more rounds, and eventually have my BB QQ faced with UTG's AA. meh.
Well, better luck in the next 2 million dollar tournament on party. ^^
btw, if I sound tilted, I'm not ;-) I don't mind losing that much, although I'm a little irritated by the waste of an evening for just two tourneys (BoD as well)... I think I'll stick to playing cash games on the side, rather than chatting ^^
Sorry for the absurdly boring post, but I promised I'd write something, no?
See you soon for a few interesting, funny or cynical posts
