[x] weekends are profitable

I’m running insanely good at the moment, it’s unbelievable. 16ptBB/100 on NL200 over 6k hands, cashing in almost every tourney I play =P (more on that further)

So, anywho, I’m up ~1800$ in cashgames between friday and today, plus a nice tourneydonk win (well not quite): 15k gtd VIP freeroll on Party, 800 entrants, top 60 paid, I finish 2nd for 1249.50. 50 cent (LIKE THE RAPPER LOL) short of glory, and 351$ short of first place money, but whatever, I still ran very g00t ;)
The video should be up in a few days hopefully, with a bit of luck even as a session review if a mtt coach is willing to comment. It could be a very interesting educational video (especially for beginners) imo.

btw, here’s the weekend’s graph: (I should play more hands, I know)

53.5bb/100 ftw!

upswingz

My picture!

Hey, long time since I updated this, but true to my forum sig, it’s full moon, so I owe a blog post.
Anyway, I had a very very good week - +3100$ (+rakeback) since last thursday, with 1400$ between yesterday and today :) My ptBB/100 is now at 5.18 over NL100 and 200.
Don’t wanna post the graph or it’ll bring on the doomswitch, but I’ll post it at the end of the month. In any case I probably won’t play much, since I have a ton of work to do this week.

In case you were wondering, the “milestone” in the title is that with my $8000 bankroll I’m now up >$10k online :) And there’s ~1500$ live winnings to add to that. So yeah, not much to say really, except I’m really happy right now ^^
//update cause I’m bored
Plans:
- Continue on NL200 (with min. 35 BI’s) until this summer and/or $15k bankroll to move up to NL400. Win enough during the holidays to pay for my electric car project (If anyone’s interested, I’ll elaborate, once I get a bit more info regarding the Swiss law - but basically I’ll be converting an old car to a all-electric vehicle - should cost 15-20k$ depending on battery cost)
- Get a tablet PC at some point (recommendations?). A new desktop computer too, maybe

Just to compensate, I’ll throw in some bad news…
I won’t qualify for the VIP pass (100% rakeback during 1 to 36 days) - which could potentially be worth > $15k. Turns out I needed to play 6000 RAKED hands, not 6k hands, this week-end. Well shit.

Sorry for the very low-on-content post, but hey I guess you came to expect if you read this blog. I’ll probably post again in a few days, so hang around ;)

…well, at least theoretically. It seems that March 2008 has been one of the wettest Belgian March months in the last century. Unsurprisingly, I played a decent amount of hands, simply because there weren’t a lot of other things to do.

Overall, it has been one of the most satisfying months of my poker career. Not only did I manage to have my second most profitable month, but also I finally reached the deuce status at PartyPoker. I mean, it’s nice and all that they’re sending me a greeting card to wish me a happy 2008 (being it 2 months too late), but I rather have a decent rakeback deal that gives me some sweet cash ;). Which I now finally have. Also, I broke some personal records: having the highest amount of cash at a table (1400$) and having the most profitable day (also about 1400$)

March 2008

The graph is mostly NL200 and NL400. I took a shot at NL600 as well, but after immediately losing 1.5 buyin I left it for what it was and decided to come back when I was a bit more rolled. Which hopefully be soon if things keep going this way. Anyway, you can probably guess based on the graph when I played my brief session of NL600. There’s 400$ unnaccounted for due to broken hand histories, btw.

It’s a shame there aren’t a lot of midstake full ring games going on at Party, but it has its merits too. I learned a little bit more about playing headsup recently at another, not further mentioned educational site, and now, whenever I feel like there are too little tables available, I just start a new one. You’d be surprised how many donks there are, that are willing to play headsup for their last roll. And heck, who am I to refuse them to have fun donking their last money with K high when I have top pair ;)

I cashed out a bit too. All poker play and no other play makes Jack a dull boy, or something. It’s nice to have a decent roll, but sometimes it’s nice to reward yourself for a good month. Anyway, I spent the money on:

- A new laptop. I have a decent desktop at my studentroom, but when I’m at home during the weekends and vacations, I’m forced to play on the laptop. Which has been bugging the hell out of me, because the network card keeps dropping out every hour or so. And if that doesn’t happen, be sure about it that an hour or 3 of having the Party client open makes it lag more than any slowmotion video of a snail crossing the road. Yesterday, I had a hand where I was just about to get it all in with the nut straight 3-way (900$ pot), and once again…the damn thing froze. I wouldn’t be writing this blog now if it hadn’t unfrozen the last 2 seconds of my time bank, and I just managed to pull the slider to the right and press “bet”. Then this thing would be laying on the bottom of my pond right now for sure. It has come to a point where I’m actually more stressed about being able to do what I have to do, and less about the actual game. Hence, my new laptop will definitely be EV+ ;)

 - A trip to Bulgaria in July. I heard the girls there are pretty and the drinks are cheap. Or maybe it was the other way around, I don’t quite remember. Anyhow, it should be fun.

It’s a shame I probably will have to focus more on school the upcoming weeks and months, because I really feel like playing the same number of hands when I’m in an upswingy mood. I haven’t even read the literature for my master paper yet, let alone started to write on it. Well, at least I already have my reading material stored on my hard drive. It’s a start, I guess.

Play well, and until next time.
